By adhering to the 3-30-300 index or recommendation for access to green spaces, the burden of non-communicable diseases attributed to environmental risk factors such as air pollution and noise pollution is reduced in any community. What does this index mean?
The 3-30-300 recommendation states that every individual should be able to see at least three trees from their residence, workplace, or school; the neighborhood should have at least 30% tree canopy cover; and individuals should live within 300 meters of a quality public green space (at least 0.5 hectares in size).
